Central College

Eleven Central College students were inducted into Central's Iowa Epsilon chapter of Kappa Mu Epsilon, a nationally-recognized mathematics honor society. The society, founded in 1931, recognizes undergraduate students of mathematics and other closely-related fields who have maintained standards of scholarship, have professional merit and have attained academic distinction.

Central College students attended The Examined Life Conference Oct. 13, 2017, in Iowa City. The conference, which aims to unite the disciplines of writing and medicine, was hosted by the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine. The students presented a panel titled, "Post-Traumatic Stress, Spiritual Distress, and Healing for Female Veterans: A Discussion of Sand Queen."

More than 400 students earned a spot on the fall 2017 dean's list for Central College. The honor is awarded to full-time students who achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher on a 4.0 scale while taking 12 or more graded credit hours for the semester.
