Four Central College students gave their Senior Thesis presentations as they prepare to graduate.

22 Central College students will perform with the Chamber Singers in the 45th annual Christmas Candlelight Concerts. The Chamber Singers will join the A Cappella Choir, Orchestra and Handbell Choir for performances at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, and Saturday, Dec. 14, on the Hoekstra Family Stage in Douwstra Auditorium.

15 Central College students will perform with the Handbell Choir in the 45th annual Christmas Candlelight Concerts. The Handbell Choir will join the A Cappella Choir, Chamber Singers and Orchestra for performances at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, and Saturday, Dec. 14, on the Hoekstra Family Stage in Douwstra Auditorium.

50 Central College students will perform as part of the A Cappella Choir in the 45th annual Christmas Candlelight Concerts. The A Cappella Choir will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Des Moines. The group then will join the Chamber Singers, Orchestra and Handbells for performances at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, and Saturday, Dec. 14, on the Hoekstra Family Stage in historic Douwstra Auditorium.

14 Central College students will perform in the ALMA Christmas Concert at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, in Cox-Snow Music Center. Rusty Johnson, a saxophonist and 2003 Central alum, will be a guest artist.

32 Central College students will perform with the Symphonic Wind Ensemble during its holiday performance of Alfred Reed's "Russian Christmas Music" at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, on the Hoekstra Family Stage in Douwstra Auditorium.

Eight Central College students will perform Dec. 4 in "An Evening of Flute and Percussion" in Douwstra Auditorium.

11 Central College students performed Nov. 15 in the Jazz Band Concert in Cox-Snow Music Center. The performance also featured New York City guest artist Thana Alexa.

Nine Central College students performed Nov. 6 in the ALMA Concert in Cox-Snow Music Center.

29 students are members of the Flying Pans Steel Band at Central College. The group performed its "Steel Graffiti" show Nov. 1-3 in Douwstra Auditorium and will perform its "Caribbean Christmas" show at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, in the Vermeer Banquet Room of Graham Conference Center.

Eight Central College students will participate in the production of Ivan Viripaev's dark comedy "Illusions." The play runs Nov. 19-23 in Mr. B Studio in the Kruidenier Theatre.

53 Central College students will perform with the A Cappella Choir on its Central Iowa tour that will make four stops over three days from Nov. 8-10. Several performances are free and open to the public.

12 Central College students participated in an Economics, Accounting and Business Management (EAM) trip Oct. 24-26 to Chicago. The students made site visits to Chicago Transit Authority, Walgreens' corporate headquarters and ABN AMRO Clearing.

12 Central College students participated in the production of Neil Simon's hilarious farce "Rumors." The play ran Oct. 2-5 in the Kruidenier Theatre.

Five Central College students attended the 17th World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, which was held Sept. 19-22 in Merida, Mexico.

29 Central College students performed in the Steel Pans Concert on Sept. 29 in Douwstra Auditorium as part of Homecoming 2019 festivities.

Central College is proud to announce this year's recipients of full-tuition Kuyper Scholarships and Rolscreen Scholarships, the most prestigious awards granted at the college.

K.E. Daft and Hannah Marcum Wells, Central College alumnae, joined Josh Dolezal, professor of English, in presenting at the 17th International Willa Cather Seminar. "Unsettling Cather: Differences + Dislocations" was held June 17-21 at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia.

Central College has announced that 16 students who studied abroad in the Spring 2019 semester have earned spots on the dean's list. The honor is awarded to full-time students who achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher on a 4.0 scale while taking 12 or more graded credit hours for the semester.
