Central College students were recognized during the annual Scholarship Dinner for scholarships earned and applied to the 2024-25 academic year.

Central College welcomed 156 students to its Fall Scholar Days where prospective students compete for scholarships.

Latinos Unidos of Iowa presented "Unlocking Your Future," the 2024 academic scholarship awards ceremony and dinner. Central College students Noemi Vega '25 and Jenna Marie Hernandez '24 were awarded scholarships this year.

Central College's education program and the Geisler Penquite Educational Excellence committee have announced the 2021 Geisler Penquite Scholars. The Geisler Penquite Foundation honors and supports exceptional students in the college's teacher education program who exhibit potential for leadership and hold at least a 3.4 GPA, among other qualifications.

Central College is proud to announce this year's recipients of full-tuition Kuyper Scholarships and Rolscreen Foundation Scholarships, the most prestigious awards granted at the college. Peter H. Kuyper founded Rolscreen Company, known today as Pella Corporation. Students selected participated in Central's Scholar Days. All have at least a 3.7 GPA.

Central's annual Scholarship Celebration was scheduled for Thursday, April 22, but was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The event gives student scholarship recipients the opportunity to personally thank and share dinner with donors who help make their Central education possible. More than 800 students would have been recognized this year in P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium.

Cameron Coles, a member of the Class of 2022 at Central College, has been named a 2021 Goldwater Scholar in a prestigious national competition that recognizes undergraduates for outstanding achievements in the fields of mathematics, science and engineering.

Lindsey Blommers, a junior at Central College, received a $5,000 scholarship from Community State Bank. She was presented the award In August on campus at the women's leadership conference. The one-time scholarship was created to support a female student interested in finance, business management or accounting.

This award brings with it the expectation of leadership in the classroom and in general and notes the potential for leadership in the students' future career in education.

Cameron Coles, a sophomore at Central College, is a recipient of the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, which enables students to study or intern abroad. Coles, of Farley, Iowa, will study in Wales this semester.
