Two Central College students gave their Senior Honors Thesis presentations Wednesday, Dec. 1.

64 Central College students will perform in the college's annual Christmas Candlelight concert Dec. 9-11. A Cappella Choir and Chamber Singers will perform under the direction of Mark Babcock, a 1991 Central graduate, professor of music and M. Joan Kuyper Farver Endowed Chair in Music.

17 Central College students performed in a Symphonic Wind Ensemble concert Sunday, Dec. 5, in Douwstra Auditorium on Hoekstra Family Stage.

Nine Central College students performed in an ALMA concert Friday, Dec. 3, in Cox-Snow Music Center on Central's campus.

Central College students who participate in Percussion Ensemble and Flute Ensemble performed in a concert titled "Evening of Flute & Percussion" on Wednesday, Dec. 1, in Douwstra Auditorium on Hoekstra Family Stage. Students with Central's Dutch Boom concluded the evening's entertainment.

Central College student Allyssa Jubeck, Class of 2025, received an Outstanding Witness Award at the Ole Open at St. Olaf College on Nov. 13. Jubeck is a member of the Central College Mock Trial Team. As a first-year student, this is her third competition.

Blaine Hawkins, quarterback for the Central College football team, was featured on WHO 13 for his accomplishments on the field.

Three Central College students will participate in the sixth annual Midwest Sports Analytics Meeting on Saturday, Nov. 20, via Zoom. Each student will present research in sports analytics alongside experts in the field.

Central College's education program and the Geisler Penquite Educational Excellence committee have announced the 2021 Geisler Penquite Scholars. The Geisler Penquite Foundation honors and supports exceptional students in the college's teacher education program who exhibit potential for leadership and hold at least a 3.4 GPA, among other qualifications.

Four Central College students will perform in the upcoming Jazz Band concert Friday, Nov. 12, in Cox-Snow Music Center on Central's campus.

Three Central College students will perform in the upcoming College-Community Orchestra concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, in Douwstra Auditorium on Hoekstra Family Stage.

Nine Central College students will perform in the upcoming ALMA concert at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, in Cox-Snow Music Center on Central's campus.

Central College student Victoria Warren was recognized as Outstanding Attorney at the 10th annual Calkins Invitiational Oct. 22-24 at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Warren is a member of the Central College Mock Trial Team.

Three Central College students will perform at Jazz on the House with Viva Vocal Jazz on Thursday, Oct. 28, in Des Moines, Iowa. The students are ALMA Jazz singers at Central.

Central College is proud to announce this year's recipients of full-tuition Kuyper Scholarships and Rolscreen Foundation Scholarships, the most prestigious awards granted at the college. Peter H. Kuyper founded Rolscreen Company, known today as Pella Corporation. Students selected participated in Central's Scholar Days. All have at least a 3.7 GPA.

Central College announced its Homecoming court and royalty winners during a ceremony Friday, Oct. 1. Terry Hefel, Megan Reem, Brayden Egli and John Zeitler were selected to the Homecoming court. Cassidy Frana and Thomas Spoehr were crowned Homecoming royalty.

Central College student Cameron Coles conducted research at a Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) site funded by the National Science Foundation this summer.

26 Central College students are completing internships this fall for academic credit.

Three Central College students will particpate in the virtual discussion "Student Perspectives on the Future of Work" Wednesday, Sept. 8, hosted by Keeping Educated Youth in Des Moines.

The men's rugby team at Central College won the Challenge Cup at the 2021 Collegiate Rugby Championship tournament May 29-31.

Eight Central College students participated in a women's leadership conference on campus Aug.16-20. It is the third year for the conference, designed to provide opportunities for Central seniors nominated by faculty and staff members. The event allows them to meet with experts in their fields whose character sets an example for women scholars and future leaders.

More than 300 students were named to the Central College dean's list for Spring 2021. The honor is awarded to full-time students who achieve a 3.5 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale while taking 12 or more graded credit hours for the semester.

Central College has announced the names of those elected as Student Senate executive officers for the 2021-22 academic year.

12 Central College students will participate in internships for the Summer 2021 semester.

22 Central College students in the Class of 2021 graduated with Alpha Alpha Alpha honors.

41 Central College students in the Class of 2021 graduated with Alpha Zeta Mu honors.
