Central College of Pella, Iowa, is a private college known for its active student body, academic rigor and athletics success. Our students learn collaboratively with supportive educators who share a commitment to intellectual engagement, personal growth, career readiness and civic involvement. Founded in 1853 and shaped by its Christian heritage, the college of 1,100 students participates in NCAA Division III athletics and is a member of the American Rivers Conference. Central is an active part of the Greater Des Moines region and just minutes from Lake Red Rock, Iowa’s largest lake.

Central College Students Lead Panel at University of Iowa

Central College students attended The Examined Life Conference Oct. 13, 2017, in Iowa City. The conference, which aims to unite the disciplines of writing and medicine, was hosted by the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine. The students presented a panel titled, "Post-Traumatic Stress, Spiritual Distress, and Healing for Female Veterans: A Discussion of Sand Queen."

Students presented their portfolios, student teaching experience and progress monitoring projects. The event was meant to honor and celebrate Central's student teachers. Local Students Participate In Education Senior Showcase at Central College

The following students, all education majors in their senior years at Central College, participated in the Senior Showcase for the education department Wednesday, December 5 from 5:30-8 p.m. During the half-hour presentations, they presented portfolios, student teaching experience and progress monitoring projects. The showcase was a celebration of Central's student teachers.
