Van Gorp repeats as All-American

The Dutch center was a second team selection in the 2023-24 season

Pella, IA (03/19/2025) — PELLA- For the second time in his career, Central College men's basketball center Joshua Van Gorp (5th-year, Pella, Pella Christian HS) was selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Division III All-America Third Team.

This is Van Gorp's third time being selected to an All-American team earning second team honors in 2023-24, along with a third team selection in 2022-23.

Van Gorp averaged a career high 23.5 points and 10.5 rebounds this past season. He led all of Division III in field goals with 266 and field goal percentage at 68%. He also became the all-time leading scorer finishing with 1991 points. In a 75-73 win against Coe College on February 1, he set a new school record and American Rivers Conference record scoring 55 points on 26 field goals.

Van Gorp set a new season record with 16 double-doubles, nine of which he also had over 20 points. He also had eight games this season of over 30 points.

The Dutch finished their season with a 17-12 record and won the A-R-C tournament for the first time since the 2015-16 season.
