Van Gorp earns another All-American nod

The Dutch center was a second team selection from D3hoops.com in the 2023-24 season

Pella, IA (03/24/2025) — For the first time in his career, center Joshua Van Gorp (5th-year, Pella, Pella Christian HS) was named to the D3hoops.com All-American First Team.

After being a third team selection by the NABC, he was a second team selection by D3hoops.com in 2023-24.

Van Gorp led all of Division III in field goals with 266 and field goal percentage at 68%. He was also ninth in the country in points scored with 634, and seventh in the country averaging 23.5 points per game.

Van Gorp finished his career with 1,991 points, which stands as the all-time record in Central men's basketball history. He also set two double-double records, recording 16 this past season and totaling 36 for his career. Nine of his double-doubles he also scored over 20 points, and he scored over 30 points eight times. Included in those eight games was a career, and American Rivers Conference record 55 points on February 1 against Coe College, and a 40-point outburst against the Loras College on February 8.

The Dutch qualified for the DIII national tournament and despite the loss to Washington University of St. Louis (Mo.), Van Gorp scored 39 points on 16-20 shooting from the field.
