Central's Writers Reading Welcomes Poet Kevin Stein
Pella, IA (04/01/2019) — Central College will celebrate National Poetry Month with its Writers Reading event featuring Kevin Stein, director of the creative writing program at Bradley University. The event is set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 4, in the Upper Chapel on Central's campus.
Stein, who will read from his collection of work, will be introduced by friend Keith Ratzlaff, professor of English at Central. The event is free and open to the public.
Stein is known for the humor and insight of his poems. He was the Poet Laureate of Illinois from 2003-17.
Geisler Library's Writers Reading series started in 1987 to promote an appreciation of books and their authors. It features locally, nationally and internationally known writers who read and discuss their works.
