Central's Laine to Present "A Hospitable Place: A Photo Tour of Historic and Modern Hospices"

Pella, IA (05/18/2022) — Central College's Linda Laine, professor of communication studies and Hospice of Pella volunteer educator, will share her journey as she traces the hospice movement to London and back. Her presentation "A Hospitable Place: A Photo Tour of Historic and Modern Hospices" will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 19, in Cox-Snow Recital Hall on the Central campus.

Laine, the Kenneth J. Weller Distinguished Professor of the Liberal Arts and Professor of Communication Studies as well as chair for the Department of Language, Literature and Communication, also teaches the communication session at the Hospice of Pella volunteer training. She has completed extensive research in hospices, present and past. Laine traveled to England and the East Coast visiting some of the first hospices in London and the United States.

The public is invited to attend this free event.
