Central's Johnson earns women's basketball all-conference nod

Naughton and Moore earn honorable mention

Pella, IA (03/05/2025) — Abby Johnson (senior, Ankeny) was the lone Central College women's basketball player named to the American Rivers all-conference team.

Johnson, a guard, was a second-team selection. Emily Naughton (sophomore, Indianola) and CeCe Moore (sophomore, Waterloo, West HS) both received honorable mention.

In her 16 conference games, Johnson averaged 12.6 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. Johnson shot 36.9% from three-point range and she was third in the conference averaging 2.9 three-point field goals per game.

Moore, a forward, averaged 8.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. She also ranks fifth in the conference with a 52.4% field goal percentage and in blocks with 18.

Naughton, a point guard, averaged 8.7 points and 2.7 assists per game. She also collected 22 steals over the 16 games.

The Dutch finished their season 15-12 and 7-9 in conference games. They finished tied for fifth in the conference and went on to Defeat Simpson College in the first round of the conference tournament. The team would go onto lose in the semifinals against Coe College.
