Central RED Society Presents Vermeer Tornado Update with CEO Jason Andringa

by Central College

Pella, IA (10/25/2018) — Central College's Central RED Society will present "A Vermeer Tornado Update" with Vermeer Corporation's president and CEO Jason Andringa at 11:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 9 in the Vermeer Banquet Room of the Graham Conference Center on the Central College Campus. Admission is $10 and includes lunch.

On July 19, 2018, an EF3 tornado ripped through Vermeer Corporation's mile-long campus. The hit came on the day the company was hosting more than 400 customers and dealers from around the world who had assembled to celebrate the corporation's 70th anniversary. Fortunately, only minor injuries resulted, but the event changed the company forever. Andringa recounts the minutes, hours and days following the event - and how Vermeer's commitment to continuous improvement helped the company weather the storm and turn catastrophe into opportunity.

Participants must be a member of the Central RED ("'Ready to Engage and Discover") Society to attend. A Central RED membership costs $25 per year. To become a member, contact Mary Benedict, assistant director of alumni relations, at benedictm@central.edu or 641-628-7641. No affiliation with Central College is required to join - the society is open to all.
