Central RED Society Presents Talk on Iowa Caucus by Professor Andrew Green

Pella, IA (01/30/2020) — Central College's Central RED Society presents "Iowa Caucuses: Results and Implications" by Andrew Green, professor of political science at Central College. The event is set for 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, in the Boat/Moore Rooms of Maytag Student Center. Cost is $10 with a lunch scheduled for 11:30 a.m.

Green will discuss the results of the upcoming 2020 Iowa Caucuses in the context of political science literature. He also will discuss the implications of the results for future caucuses and primaries across the country.

In his 15th year at Central, Green also is director of the pre-law program and faculty coordinator of the Mock Trial program. Green's teaching and research interests include American politics and policy, political behavior, and state and local politics and government. His research focuses primarily on state and local politics and policy.

Green is the author of "From the Iowa Caucuses to the White House: Understanding Donald Trump's 2016 Electoral Victory in Iowa," a book published in August 2019.

Central RED (Ready to Engage and Discover) is a volunteer-driven, lifelong learning and social organization with an abiding partnership with Central College alumni and friends who wish to share knowledge, talents and experiences. Members pay $20 annually to join Central RED.
