Pella, IA (02/22/2021) — Central College's Central RED Society will present "Cargill: Who are we?" with Jackie Seekamp and Bryce Bloomquist during a virtual event at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 18.

Membership in Central RED is required to attend, and a Zoom link will be emailed to members.

How many of us have driven to U.S. Highway 163 past Eddyville and wondered, "Just what does Cargill do?" The Cargill Eddyville plant creates food ingredients for products "working to feed the world." Its 2,000-acre campus is one of the largest food ingredients operations across the country. Seekamp and Bloomquist will share some insight on what all goes on in the plant.

Seekamp is a quality assurance specialist in the utilities department (water, boiler and wastewater). She graduated from Central in 2006 and majored in chemistry and art. She lives in Pella with her husband, two kids and three dogs.

Bloomquist is a 2011 graduate of Central who majored in exercise science/athletic training. He is the production technician in the utilities department and is currently a member of the Site Safety Committee and the Implementation Task Force.

Central College of Pella, Iowa, is a private, four-year liberal arts college. Central is known for its academic rigor, leadership and character development, global experiential learning, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and sustainability education, athletics and service.
