Central College Theatre to Present 'Doubt'
Pella, IA (09/21/2020) — Central College's theatre department will present the powerful drama "Doubt, A Parable" from Oct. 7-11 in the Kruidenier Theatre.
The story centers around Sister Aloysius, a Bronx school principal, who takes matters into her own hands when she suspects the young Father Flynn of improper relations with one of the male students.
"Doubt, A Parable" is written by John Patrick Shanley and won the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for drama and the 2005 Tony Award for best play. It was turned into an Academy Award-nominated film starring Meryl Streep as Sister Aloysius and Philip Seymour Hoffman as Father Flynn.
Directed by C.D. Adamson, associate professor of theatre, Central's performances will take place at 7 p.m. Oct. 7-10 and at 2 p.m. Oct. 11. Kruidenier Theatre will be limited to half capacity with physically distanced seating and mandatory masks for the audience.
Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for senior citizens and students and free to Central students, faculty and staff with a Central ID. Tickets are available at events.central.edu or can be purchased at the door before each performance.
