Central College Presents "Les Liaisons Dangereuses"

by Central College

Pella, IA (03/11/2019) — Central College's theatre department presents "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" by Christopher Hampton.

Performances will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, through Saturday, April 6, at the Kruidenier Center on Central's campus in Pella, Iowa. The performance is under the direction of C.D. Adamson, assistant professor of theatre.

This award-winning play, adapted into the Oscar-winning film Dangerous Liaisons, tells a chilling tale of love and revenge played as a high stakes game of life and death. The Marquise de Merteil is a powerful player in French aristocracy who manipulates the lives of others for sport. She challenges her former lover Valmont to prove his seductive powers, and an innocent bride-to-be and the virtuous Madame de Tourvel get caught in the middle. But while these aristocrats sabotage others' hearts and reputations, their own prove to be even more fragile.

Tickets are $8 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and students and free with a Central College ID. Tickets are available at events.central.edu. Due to sexually suggestive material and language, this production is not suitable for children.
