Central College Music Ensembles Present Virtual Performances

Pella, IA (10/29/2020) — Central College's music department will offer several upcoming virtual performances, starting Saturday, Oct. 31, with "Stars and Stripes and Steel Drums."

The Flying Pans Steel Band, directed by Stan Dahl, will present "AMERIPAN," a patriotic musical journey at 7:30 p.m. The event will be held on Hoekstra Family Stage in Douwstra Auditorium and livestreamed for free.

The group will embrace its red, white and blue music with steel drums, special effects, lights and video featuring a variety of songs, including "Surfin' U.S.A." by the Beach Boys and a rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner."

Other upcoming scheduled virtual performances are:

  • A Cappella Choir and Chamber Singers: 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4
  • Jazz Band: 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6
  • ALMA: 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13
