Central College Music Department Wraps Up Year's Performances

Pella, IA (04/11/2019) — Central College's music department will finish the school year out with a flurry of concerts.

The first is the ALMA Concert set for 8 p.m. Friday, April 26, in the Cox-Snow Music Center. Tickets are $5, or free with a Central ID, and can be purchased at events.central.edu.

The Percussion Extravaganza is the following night, Saturday, April 27, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in Douwstra Auditorium. Scheduled to perform are the Percussion Ensemble, Flying Pans Steel Band and the Dutch Boom. The event is free and open to the public.

Central's Symphonic Wind Ensemble will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 28, in Douwstra Auditorium. Also, the Flute Ensemble Recital is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, in the Chapel. Both events are free and open to the public.

The A Cappella Choir will hold its Pre-Tour Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 12, in Douwstra Auditorium. The choir and Chamber Singers will perform to launch their Midwest Tour that will make six stops from May 20-26 in the Kansas City area. The theme of the tour is "Music is … In the Heart of the World." The event is free and open to the public.
