Central College Music Department Hosts 2021 Summer Camp

Pella, IA (05/10/2021) — Central College's music department will host its High School Instrumental Music Camp June 7-10. The camp is for high school musicians interested in sharing an exciting musical environment with other musicians on Central's campus.

The day camp will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. each day. All campers will receive hands-on training in music notation and technology, conducting, music history, secondary instruments, lessons, masterclasses, chamber ensembles, concert band and the Caribbean steel drums, which will lead up to a final performance on Thursday, June 10.

"We are thrilled to once again be able to offer our music camp to high school students at Central College," says Cynthia Krenzel, associate professor of music and music department chair. "We look forward to welcoming them back and hosting fun activities for students who want to learn and improve their skills as musicians."
