Central Adds Two Members to Board of Trustees

by Central College

Pella, IA (07/12/2021) — Central College has announced changes to its Board of Trustees, including the addition of two new members.

Amy Dietrich Eilers and Chad Huyser were elected as new members, beginning their terms July 1. Board members provide vision for Central's future and typically meet on campus twice each year.

"We are privileged to have a board that is deeply committed to the college," says Central College President Mark Putnam. "Our new trustees will bring fresh perspectives to further stimulate creativity within the board and continue a legacy of strong leadership at Central."

A look at the new members:

Amy Dietrich Eilers, a 1988 graduate of Central, is an executive women's health clinical account specialist at Merck & Co. in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Eilers has been with Merck & Co. since 1995. She was the guest speaker at Central's annual Scholarship Dinner in 2019. Her husband, Mike, is a 1989 Central graduate, along with her son, Joe Eilers, who is a 2018 graduate. They are generous donors to the college.

Chad Huyser, a 1997 graduate of Central, is the regional director of Lely International in addition to his role as president of Lely North America in Pella, Iowa.

Huyser was named regional director of Lely International and president of Lely North America in September 2019. He leads all of Lely's North American efforts and serves as one of five Lely regional directors worldwide. He has been with Lely for 14 years. He and his wife, Valerie Roush Huyser, both graduated from Central in 1997 and are generous donors to the college.
