Busy Month Ahead for Central College Music Department
Pella, IA (03/18/2019) — Central College's music department will have a busy start to April.
The month of events kicks off April 2 with Eine Schubertiade, a recital of vocal and instrumental works by Franz Schubert. The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Douwstra Auditorium on Central's campus and is free and open to the public.
Central's Treble Clef Choir will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 4, while the college's Jazz Band will host a concert at 8 p.m. Friday, April 12. Both are in Cox-Snow Music Center and are free and open to the public.
The ALMA Concert is set for 8 p.m. Friday, April 5, in Cox-Snow Music Center. Tickets are $5 for adults or free with a Central ID. Tickets are available at events.central.edu.
Douwstra Auditorium also will host Rock-A-Pella, the A Cappella Choir's variety show, at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 13. This concert is an annual fundraiser for the A Cappella Choir. After the performance, the public can vote for their favorite act with monetary donations. All money will support the choir's Midwest Tour from May 20-26. Admission is free and open to the public.
Concerto-Aria will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 14, in Douwstra Auditorium. It features selected student soloists and the College Community Orchestra. The event is free and open to the public.
Night of Broadway is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, in Douwstra Auditorium. Students will perform Broadway's greatest solos and ensembles. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
