Kirsten Carstarphen Competes on Central College Dance Team

Kirsten Carstarphen, a native of Perry and a junior at Central College, participates on the Central College dance team. For the past three years, the squad earned first place in hip-hop and, during the 2011-12 season, placed 2nd in pom and 3rd in jazz dance categories for Division III at the Iowa State Drill Team Association competition.
Central's team was third in the hip-hop routine and took first runner-up honors in the pom routine at the American Dance/Drill Team American Collegiate Championship.
The Central dance team is an auditioned squad and practices throughout the academic year, dancing at multiple performances and competitions annually.
Central College is a private, four-year, residential liberal arts college in Pella, Iowa.
