Central College Welcomes New Faculty and Staff

Pella, IA (08/28/2018) — Central College announces four new teaching faculty members and four new staff members.

NEW FACULTY

Amanda Clark (B.A., Simpson College, M.S., Drake University), instructor of education.

Alan Hastings (B.A., history; B.A., economics; Ph.D., curriculum, instruction and teacher education; Ph.D., educational policy, Michigan State University), assistant professor of education.

Pavithra Premaratne (B.S., M.S. and Ph.D., aerospace engineering, Iowa State University), assistant professor of physics and engineering.

Julie Summers (B.A., University of Northern Iowa; M.S., advertising, Northwestern University; Ph.D., education/organizational learning and human resource development, Iowa State University), lecturer of management and marketing.

NEW STAFF

Dana Berggren (B.S., family studies and human services, Kansas State University), assistant director of community-based learning.

Morgan Keasler (B.S., psychology, Iowa State University; M.S., Human Resource Education and Workforce Development, Louisiana State University) associate director of career and professional development.

Rosa Virginia Méndez (B.A., José Maria Vargas University; M.A., international education, School for International Training), assistant director of study abroad.

Lisa Munro (B.A., United States history, Fort Lewis College; Ph.D., Latin American history, University of Arizona), resident director, Mérida, Mexico, study abroad program.

STAFF CHANGES

Leslie Duinink (B.A., exercise science, Central College; M.S., Physical Education, Indiana State University), associate professor of exercise science and class dean, will serve as interim registrar. She has been an athletic trainer and faculty member at Central since 1998.

Jessica Klyn de Novelo (B.A., art and Spanish, Central College; M.A., intercultural relations, University of the Pacific), has been promoted to director of career and professional development. She has worked at Central since 2005 in study abroad and community-based learning.
